The course addresses several essential topics, including the distinction between SEN and SEND, the key signs and symptoms within the Special Educational Needs umbrella, the “Three Negatives,” and the implementation of reasonable adjustments. These areas of knowledge are fundamental for anyone working with children and young people and provide critical insight into inclusive practice.
As coaches and teachers, we engage with young people on an almost daily basis, placing us in a unique position of influence and responsibility. It is both our duty and our privilege to ensure that every child is supported effectively and given equitable access to participate and thrive in sport.
By educating and raising awareness among professionals, this course equips them with the understanding, confidence, and practical tools needed to create inclusive environments. In doing so, we empower professionals to remove barriers, unlock potential, and inspire a broader and more diverse generation of young people to engage in sport.
